How is the 2019 Cutest Pets in Dallas contest different?
We learned a lot from last year’s Cutest Pets contest, and are so grateful for all who participated. Due to popular demand, we are launching it again! Here are a few updates:
There will be two (2) winners this year. A “Readers’ Choice” winner and a “Judges’ Pick” winner. The 20 pets that receive the most votes will move on for consideration from the esteemed panel of pet experts who will select the “Judges’ Pick.”. The panel will not be aware the “Readers’ Choice” winner in advance of the judging session. Pets will be judged on the photo received, level of cuteness, and the bio submitted.
How many of my pets can I submit?
This year we are only allowing one pet per submission and only one submission per person! Since we are only opening up the contest to the first 1,000 pets, we want to be sure it’s fair. All images submitted with multiple pets in one image will be disqualified.
Can I submit an entry after the submissions period?
No entries are permitted after the submission deadline has passed, which is April 29 or when we hit 1,000 entries. But you can definitely vote!
During the voting period, how many times can I vote?
You can vote for as many contestants as you would like. Spread the love.
I paid for a custom cover with my entry. When will I receive it?
Soon! One of our amazing designers is hard at work at it. You should receive it within 5-7 days of submission, via email. We appreciate your patience!
How will the winners be selected?
The Readers’ Choice winner will be the pet that receives the most votes, period.
The Judges’ Pick winner process will be as follows: The top 20 pets with the most votes will move on to the final round of judging. We will have a panel of esteemed pet-expert judges featuring our editorial staff and past D Best winners to weigh in. Pets will be judged on the photo received, level of cuteness, and the bio submitted. The panel will not know the “Readers’ Choice” winner in advance of the judging session. Both winners will be announced on May 23
