The president looks like he’s sleeping. His brow seems raised, turned upward over his long nose and gaunt cheeks. Below his bottom lip, his beard juts out exactly like all the silhouettes you’ve seen. But the sheer size of Abraham Lincoln’s head is surprising. See, the renovated historic hospital known as Old Parkland is the most exclusive and most expensive office campus in Dallas. But if you know someone who works there and can wrangle yourself an invite, you can pass through the heavily guarded gates and glimpse the posh world of wonder inside. You’ll find incredible paintings, remarkable sculptures, a private bar for tenants that opens in the afternoon. But the real treat is the opportunity to see the amazing collection of historic artifacts tucked into various corners. In one room alone, you can see a pair of 3,000-year-old narwhal tusks, a collection of fossilized dinosaur eggs, and, yes, a mask of Abraham Lincoln’s face. 3819 Maple Ave. 214-661-8000.
